Bakare Mubarak who is a Nigerian model and cultural ambassador was honoured at the African Achievers’ Award 10th anniversary on the 5th of December, 2020.
In a letter signed by African Achievers’ Award Chairperson, Councillor. Susan Fajana Thomas, Mubarak was invited as a Special Guest and he received the honours at the 2020 Award ceremony as the “African Youth Ambassador”.
The award is rated by Forbes as one of the most prestigious award ceremonies in Africa and it has awarded several young achievers, african leaders, and community builders. Organisers of the ceremony say that the award is in recognition of the 25 years old’s service to creating values and African heritage.
Notable individuals who were honoured at the ceremony include Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma (Former African Union Chairperson), Arch. Bishop Desmond Tutu, H.E. Jakaya Kikwete (former President of the Republic of Tanzania), Dr. Margaret Blick Kigozi (University chancellor and sports woman who currently works as a consultant at the United Nation Industrial Development Organization), Dr. Josephine Ojiambo (Deputy Secretary-General of Commonwealth), and Divine Ndikhuluka (Former Chairperson, Zimbabwe Chambers of Commerce).
Mr. John Momoh (Chairman and Founder of Channels Television),Mr. Thapelo Olopeng (Minister for Sports and Culture, Botswana), Late Prof. Attah Mills (former President of Ghana), Mr. Walter Nzembe (former Minister of Tourism/Minister of Foreign Affairs Zimbabwe), Patricia Lamor (Co-Founder of the Black History Month), Bill and Melinda Gate Foundation, DFAID, SABC South Africa, Kofi Annan Foundation, and The African Development Bank (AFDB).
The event held virtually and the theme for this year’s ceremony is “Harnessing Technology for Africa’s advancement”.
Bakare Mubarak who is our Assistant Creative Director at Creat Naija is reputed to be the tallest model in Sub-Saharan Africa and stands at an impressive height of 6ft9, about the same height as the current tallest professional model in the world. He is a model, an influencer, an actor and an ex-pageant king (Mr. Kwara international 2015/16, and also Mr. Nigeria International, Kwara 2016/17).
He has numerous awards to his credit. He has worked with renowned brands, such as: Fashion TV, First Bank, Afro Tourism, MESS LA, Glo Nigeria, Zenith Bank, Itel Mobile Nigeria, Top Tea.
Mubarak was the youngest of the 16 delegates from across the world that went on the Nigeria Travel Week South-western tour. He has taken the bold step to carry the African culture with his modelling career, hence setting him apart from others in the industry.
The model has also taken part in many humanitarian services as part of his passion and has super projects in the works. He has collaborated with many NGOs and Foundations to project and propagate the agenda of these NGOs and Foundations.
